Seabrook, A New Beach Town - Seabrook, WA
Towns do not become great by accident. The best towns are inspired by our innate need for community, combined with easy accessibility to goods and services. Today this philosophy – known as "new urbanism" – embraces the notion of sustainability. It's a return to a simpler time, before cars, when people lived near where they shopped, celebrated the arts and good food, and placed great importance on green space. Cars are welcome, and stowed thoughtfully in carefully conceived lanes and in carriage houses behind homes, but bikes and flip flops are the preferred means of transportation in Seabrook.
Parametrix has helped make Seabrook a reality. Built on 88 acres, this beach town will provide 400 homes among tree-lined streets, community parks, walking trails, quaint shops, an observation tower, and an amphitheater. With a clear understanding of sustainable development, Parametrix has led the master planning, civil engineering, surveying, permitting, and construction administration. We also designed and permitted a trail from SR 109 to the beach with two decks and a gazebo within the shoreline boundary.

We facilitated a successful, three-part regional growth summit that helped local communities identify and prioritize desired outcomes and regional initiatives and determine the next steps required to reach their goals.

Battle Ground Comprehensive Plan - Battle Ground, WA
Battle Ground is a small town with big-city growing pains. Traffic from surrounding development, lack of a significant job base, and no definition to developing neighborhoods are some of the issues Parametrix planners addressed when writing the comprehensive plan. We involved the entire community to create a 50-year vision that provides a solid foundation to help Battle Ground become a complete community.

The Project for Public Spaces calls the Pearl District, “…the model for urban neighborhoods throughout North America.”
