05.11.17 NM 1, Crawford Hollow Concrete Box Culvert Receives ACEC Engineering Excellence Award
Albuquerque, NM – Parametrix received an Engineering Excellence Award from the New Mexico Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) for their work on the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s NM 1, Crawford Hollow Concrete Box Culvert Project.
The project involved reconstructing roadway elements that had been destroyed in a flood and providing channel improvements to protect the roadway against damage from erosion due to potential future storm events. The new design had to quickly fix the damaged items so the mobility of residents who use the roadway in this rural part of New Mexico would not be affected.
Parametrix provided design solutions for new drainage and roadway structures to provide safe travel to area residents and to protect residents and structures during potential future storm events. Parametrix provided both environmental and engineering services for NM 1 as part of the firm’s contract for on-call transportation services for New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) South Regional Design.
The Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) are presented annually by ACEC New Mexico to recognize engineering achievements and to demonstrate the highest degree of merit and ingenuity. The awards pay tribute to New Mexico’s most prestigious and distinguished engineering projects.
