08.01.17 Kalispel Tribe Breaks Ground on Northern Quest Casino Expansion
Airway Heights, WA – Just 8 months after selecting Parametrix to complete the conceptual planning, master plan, landscape architecture, and infrastructure design, the Kalispel Tribe of Indians broke ground on the $20 million expansion of Northern Quest Casino. Parametrix’s Susan Devine attended the groundbreaking ceremony. The 40,000 square foot expansion includes a day care/entertainment center and family-friendly arcade, additions to the food court, a new retail store, as well as a high-end RV Resort, a movie and dinner theater, and a multi-family apartment community. The new businesses are scheduled to open in 2018.
“It’s an exciting day for the Kalispel Tribe of Indians and for our guests and team members,” says Tribal Chairman Glen Nenema. “Our vision has long included a focus on healthy and safe communities. Part of that mission includes providing quality family-friendly entertainment through our businesses. Today we’re one step closer to seeing that dream come true.”
Phase I of the expansion will bring up to 100 new permanent jobs to the community. The expansion is a part of the Tribe’s larger economic diversification strategy to ensure prosperity for many years to come.
