what we do

Parks and Civic Spaces

Building healthy, active communities

Recreational facilities contribute to a community’s livability and support quality of life for residents. Parametrix partners with our clients to create places that promote healthy lifestyles, protect critical areas and natural systems, and restore important ecological functions. Well-designed and maintained parks and open spaces will help to positively shape the community’s image and increase property value.

Forest Ridge Park | Parametrix

Forest Ridge Park
Spokane, Washington

Client: Newland Communities

Forest Ridge Park is a 5-acre neighborhood park in the Eagle Ridge master planned community. The park includes an open play area and 2-acre natural area, while integrating colorful whimsy. Other park components include an amphitheater, zip line, playground equipment, playhouses, nature walk, entrance signage, and other colorful neighborhood-created park artwork. Parametrix collaborated with the owner to establish locations throughout the park to display student sculptures. A design-build collaboration was organized with the owner and landscape contractor to construct the park. Parametrix designed the park and provided construction management.
