what we do

Parks and Civic Spaces

Building healthy, active communities

Recreational facilities contribute to a community’s livability and support quality of life for residents. Parametrix partners with our clients to create places that promote healthy lifestyles, protect critical areas and natural systems, and restore important ecological functions. Well-designed and maintained parks and open spaces will help to positively shape the community’s image and increase property value.

Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park | Parametrix

Julius M. Kleiner Park
Meridian, Idaho

Client: Kleiner Trust and City of Meridian

This new 60-acre park offers a variety of active and passive recreation opportunities including ponds, an amphitheater, an arboretum, and 3.5 miles of trails and pathways that will connect to the City’s pathway system. The park features a new 13,500-square-foot Senior Center, a band shell for outdoor performances, several pieces of commissioned artwork, and a memorial to Meridian’s fallen soldiers. Parametrix developed the master plan for the park; provided civil, transportation, and landscape design; and provided construction services.
