what we do

Mitigating environmental concerns

Hydropower is the renewable energy source that produces the most electricity in the United States. For many years, Parametrix has helped utility companies provide this electricity while minimizing impacts to fish, natural resources, and water quality and temperature. We routinely help utilities comply with Federal Energy Regulatory Commision (FERC) licensing requirements.

Enloe Dam Water Quality and Sediment Study | Parametrix

Enloe Dam Water Quality and Sediment Study
Oroville, Washington

Client: Okanogan County PUD

Okanogan County PUD is developing a 9.0MW hydropower plant below the existing Enloe Dam on the Similkameen River to restore hydropower generation. We have assisted with a FERC license application, provided water and sediment quality monitoring plans, and consulted with Washington State Department of Ecology and the Confederated Colville Tribes. Primary issues include water temperature, dissolved oxygen, TDG, and sediments contaminated with arsenic and other trace metals.
