Transforming contaminated properties

Parametrix provides multi-disciplinary solutions for site remediation and redevelopment by combining our expertise in natural resource stewardship, community planning, and civil engineering. Through collaboration with public and private partners, we restore contaminated and blighted properties into sustainable development projects. We regularly help clients seek grants and funding for these efforts and gain regulatory approvals.

Sinclair Inlet Restoration | Parametrix
Sinclair Inlet Restoration
Gorst, Washington
Client: Kitsap County

Parametrix worked in partnership with Kitsap County to develop and implement a plan to remediate four contaminated properties and restore the degraded Gorst Creek estuary. The Sinclair Inlet is part of Puget Sound and supports a variety of aquatic species, including species that are listed as threatened and endangered. This work restored shoreline habitat and function, improved salmon and waterfowl habitat, and opened up nearly an acre of comercial property for development. The project has been showcased as a model of shoreline restoration by the Puget Sound environmental community, the EPA, and local salmon recovery groups.
