  • The Floating Bridge and Landings project is one of several projects that make up the SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program which extends from I-5 in Seattle to SR 202 in Redmond, a distance of 13 miles. Parametrix, as a partner in the GEC team, provided complete construction management oversight for the project including anchor construction and placement; pontoon construction in Aberdeen; pontoon joining and assembly on Lake Washington; cofferdam inspection; bridge approach span piers; cast-in-place segmental bridge construction; roadway and building superstructures; and all electrical, mechanical, and marine operations. Parametrix staff designed, developed, and implemented a quality verification audit plan for the project and were involved in supporting and enforcing the environmental commitments developed for this very sensitive marine environment. The project also included CM for the new LEED certified maintenance facility for the bridge, including all mechanical, electrical, and structural work. Responsibilities also included coordination of RFI/RFC and submittal reviews, pay request reviews, contract and change order negotiations, and all construction compliance.
