Environmental Mapping

Depicting environmental site conditions

Parametrix helps clients identify and estimate the nature and extent of historic and current environmental site conditions and problems. Our surveyors partner with our environmental planners, scientists, and GIS experts to depict and monitor site conditions. Services include wetland mapping, slide monitoring, drainage and elevation surveys, well location surveys, topographic surveys for reclamation, utility mapping, and forensic surveys for insurance claims.

Keyport Lagoon Mitigation Project
Silverdale, Washington
Client: U.S. Navy
Partner: KPFF Consulting Engineers

The habitat enhancement project at Keyport Lagoon mitigates adverse effects from construction of a new pier at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The project reclaims tidal areas and restores the habitat structure and function of the 24-acre brackish lagoon back to those of a Puget Sound tidal marsh habitat. To support these efforts, Parametrix provided topographic mapping of the entire lagoon area along with bathymetric offshore survey adjacent to the lagoon. We used GIS mapping to prepare design drawings, develop hydrographic flow analysis, and to track sediment flows.
