Terminal 5 Boundary and Right-of-Way Determination
Seattle, Washington
Client: Port of Seattle

The Port and BNSF railroad partnered to shift BNSF right-of-way to a new location defined by tracks that had been moved during terminal expansion in 1995. The project area encompassed 220 acres of platted tidelands of an active multimodal shipping terminal and included boundary surveys of over 24 parcels. The project involved extensive right-of-way, utility, and boundary research within the City of Seattle archives, and required right-of-way to be determined for city streets as well as the West Seattle Freeway and BNSF right-of-way. An ALTA survey was performed primarily using GPS methods. Four lot boundary adjustments were prepared and processed through the City of Seattle.
