Intern Spotlight: Russell Wells, Jr.

We're thrilled to have several interns joining us at Parametrix this summer! We strive to provide challenging, hands-on project experience to students entering our industry. Meet Russell Wells, Jr., an intern with our Puyallup, WA water group. He is from Port Orchard, WA but moved to Texas in 2013 for his military service. He attends Texas A&M University with plans to graduate in August 2023 with a degree in electrical engineering.

Why did you choose an internship at Parametrix?

I chose Parametrix because of the nature of the work they do as consultants. I very much enjoy the idea of working on an entire site instead of a tiny component or part.

Meet Trevor DeFord, an intern with our Bend, OR Community Building team. He is from Albany, OR and currently attends Oregon State University with plans to graduate in spring 2023 with a degree in civil engineering.

I participate in the Multiple Engineering Cooperative Program (MECOP) at OSU so Parametrix kind of chose me for this internship but I am excited to start working here and learning how my degree is implemented in the real world.

Meet Emma Sun, an intern with our Oregon Transportation team based in Vancouver, WA. She is a senior at Portland State University majoring in civil engineering. After graduating, she plans to work toward a master's degree in structural or transportation engineering.

Intern Spotlight: Pamela Mugisha

We're pleased to welcome Pamela Mugisha as an intern with our Puget Sound Water group! We asked her a few questions about her background, career, and goals.

Education: I got my bachelor’s degree in Agricultural engineering from Makerere University, Uganda. Then I got my Master’s degree in Hydroscience and engineering from Technical University Dresden in the Saxony state of Germany. Currently I am pursuing a PhD in Environmental engineering at Texas A&M in Kingsville, Texas.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in the capital of Uganda, Kampala. But my Village is Kisoro located at the South-West border of Uganda and Rwanda.
