March is Women's History Month. To celebrate, we asked the women of Parametrix about their greatest accomplishments, who inspires them, how the industry has changed, and advice for other women in the A&E industry. Read their responses below.

Tell us about a woman in your life who has inspired you.

My mom, Sharon, is my biggest inspiration. She graduated from Montana State with an electrical engineering degree, earned her master’s degrees (EE & MBA) from MIT, and spent her career as a Boeing executive. She is impressive on paper, but more so in person. At work, she ... (more)

We’re proud to have a leadership team comprised of 50% women. Meet Nicole Lipe, Recent Graduate of UC Berkeley and New Member of Parametrix's Seattle Construction Management Group

Meet one of the newest employee-owners at Parametrix, Nicole Lipe. Nicole joins our Seattle Construction Management group. She graduated from University of California, Berkeley in 2018 and comes to Parametrix from Manson Construction where she worked on projects in Alaska, California, and Washington.

We asked Nicole a few questions about herself and her career – get to know her by reading her responses below!

 

Tell us about yourself – what are your hobbies, interests? Where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in Seattle, moved to Colorado for boarding school, and then went to college in California. I moved back to Seattle last year and am loving being back in the PNW!

Women's History Month: Sarah Touey, PE

March is Women’s History Month. We asked the women of Parametrix – who inspires you and what advice would you give to other women in the industry? Today we introduce you to Sarah Touey, PE.

Sarah is a Senior Transportation Engineer based out of Parametrix’s Portland office. She has 13 years of industry experience and is currently serving as Deputy Project Manager for TriMet’s MAX Red Line Extension project.

What sparked your interest in the engineering field?

Countries across the world don’t have access to some of the things that we in the U.S. take for granted on a daily basis. Clean water, electricity, solid infrastructure, paved roads, etc. I would like to deliver projects that achieve those luxuries that we all too often take for granted.
