Pride Month Employee-Owner Spotlight: Chloe Nichol


During Pride Month we are sharing the stories of LGBTQ+ employee-owners at Parametrix. Meet Chloe Nichol, an engineer with the Bremerton, WA environmental planning and compliance team. She recently moved to the Puget Sound region from Portland, OR. She joined Parametrix in January 2021.

Tell us about your career. What do you do? Tell us about a project you’re working on currently or a project you have worked on that you’re proud of.

Parametrix is the first engineering company I have worked with out of college. I started in the Oregon water group during COVID and have since moved to the Bremerton EP&C group. Both groups have consistently provided me work for most of my time at Parametrix and I am always excited to get to think through new types of projects.

During Pride Month, we are sharing the stories of LGBTQ+ employee-owners at Parametrix. Meet Kyle Chiodo, a Designer based in Central Oregon who is part of our Portland Transportation team. He has worked at Parametrix for 4 years.

Tell us about your career. What do you do? Tell us about a project you’re working on currently or a project you have worked on that you’re proud of

I am a Civil Designer in the Portland Transportation Group. Currently I am working on the Interstate Bridge Replacement project as the CAD Lead. I have been working through the quirks of learning a new software and helping set the project up for success on the CAD front as we move further into the design phase of the project and creating exhibits for some of the many meetings. Tell us about your professional background.

I am a graduate of Iowa State University and a Minnesota native. I graduated in 2018 and made my move out to Portland two months after to start at Parametrix. Besides an internship my short career has been with Parametrix entirely. I am looking forward to continuing to develop myself and my career at Parametrix for many years to come.

Meet Parametrix’s Newest Professional Engineer: Clara Olson


Clara Olson is a water engineer based out of our Portland, OR office who recently earned her Professional Engineer license. Learn more about Clara, the projects she’s worked on, and her advice for others taking the PE test.


Tell us about yourself.

I grew up in Portland and after four years of college in Spokane (Go Zags!) and two years in the Puyallup office, Portland was calling me home again. I’ve been back in Portland for over two years and couldn’t be happier. The Portland office was an easy transition and I love having the community in both Puyallup and Portland.

I love the outdoors and have been getting more and more into backpacking trips in the Pacific Northwest. This summer included a lot of hiking, camping, and backpacking! Mt. Rainier is one of my favorite places on earth and I was lucky enough to spend three different weekends in th... (more)
