Read about him and his experience as an intern at Parametrix below:
Why did you choose to pursue a career in Civil Engineering?
I wanted to be able to design and provide solutions to improve public and private infrastructure.
What hobbies do you have outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy exercising, playing/watching sports, photography, fishing, hiking, and restoring classic cars.
What project are you currently working on at Parametrix?
I had the opportunity to assist with the Eagle Crest Hotel and Condominiums Septic Tank Replacement project. I am currently working on the Crosswater Clubhouse freezer pad project as well as staking for the Cypress/Woodland solar farm project near Klamath Falls
Why did you choose to complete an internship at Parametrix?
I chose Parametrix because of the people and success of the company. It stood out to me that the work environment is so welcoming and friendly. Another thing that stood out is that it is an employee-owned company.
What do you enjoy most so far about working at Parametrix?
My favorite part of working at Parametrix so far is being able to work alongside such a welcoming and talented team.
What would you like to accomplish in your internship this summer?
I would like to be able to work on multiple projects and tasks to gain experience in the design processes. I would also like to experience a couple projects that contain different disciplines to help myself determine the direction I would like to take after finishing my internship and last quarter of school.
Where would you like to be in your career 5 years from now?
Five years from now I would like to see myself as a licensed P.E. working in an office that suits me. It must allow me to work on projects that fit to my knowledge and likings while allowing me grow as an engineer to build my knowledge and critical thinking and problem solving skills. I would also want an environment in which the team is welcoming and would help me grow as a person as well.
What is your ultimate career goal?
My ultimate career goal is to work for a company in which I can become a senior engineer and be the lead on my own projects. I would want younger engineers that would be a part of my team that could bring new ideas and solving skills to project. I would also be able share my own knowledge with the younger generations to help develop them to become better engineers as well.
