Lili Jeffers joins our Portland office this summer as a technical aide. She is from Laguna Beach, CA and currently attends Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. She anticipates graduating in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance and minor in Psychology.
I asked her a few questions about her background and what she is excited for at Parametrix. Read her responses below.
What sparked your interest in business and psychology?
I was interested in business due to its versatility as well as its application in the working world. I chose psychology because I am interested in learning about human behavior, including how people think and why they do what they do.
What hobbies do you have outside of work?
I love to go to the beach and swim, do yoga and workouts, and eat great food!
What are you currently working on at Parametrix? Is there a particular project you’re most excited to support?
I am beginning to work on a reorganizing and updating the Master Contract List. In a few weeks, I am excited to begin working on Prebills, Contracts, and Sub-Invoices.
Why did you choose Parametrix? What stood out to you?
I was interested in Parametrix because I love Portland and wanted to learn more about the Consulting Industry. Parametrix stood out to me because I liked the idea of gaining Finance experience at a company which was large enough to be a well-established, but small enough to allow for differentiation in types of work and the space to create meaningful, on-on-one mentorships.
What do you enjoy most so far about working at Parametrix?
So far, I enjoy working with the people at Parametrix most. Since it’s only the first week, I am still learning and navigating. The welcoming work environment and team here at Parametrix has made my experience so far!
What would you like to accomplish as a part of your internship this summer?
I would like to gain a better understanding of Parametrix’s business and how it functions overall. I would like to add real value to Portland’s administrative team by supporting their workload and making the transfer to the new BST10 system smoother and easier.
Where would you like to be in your career 5 years from now?
In 5 years I would like to have a solid career path and be working for an innovative company within that field. By that time, I would like to have completed my Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA) and possibly gone to grad school.
