Seattle, WA – Parametrix is pleased to welcome Doug Berschauer, PE back to the firm as a senior consultant in the firm’s water program. Berschauer previously worked for Parametrix from March 1988 to January 2005. He has over 33 years of experience specializing in public works projects and is experienced in planning, analysis, design, and construction management of wastewater conveyance and treatment projects. He has been responsible for all phases of implementation from feasibility studies through start-up assistance at facilities throughout the West Coast and internationally.

Berschauer has developed expertise in evaluating innovative technologies and helping clients select the appropriate treatment. He was the project manager for Actiflo pilot studies at Tacoma’s Central Treatment Plant in Washington state. He also designed the first application of Kubota flat plate membrane in North America for the Tulalip Tribes. He has served as consulting city engineer responsible for engineering decisions and public works administration for numerous cities and towns.

Berschauer has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Washington and Arizona State University. He has also

 been an active member and conference presenter in several water industry organizations including the Water Environment Federation (WEF), Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association (PNCWA), Arizona Water Association, and Alaska Water and Wastewater Management Association. He received WEF’s Arthur Sidney Bedell Award, acknowledging extraordinary personal service to the association, and PNCWA’s President’s Award in appreciation of outstanding contributions to PNCWA activities and to fulfilling its mission.
