02.12.18 Parametrix to Complete Preliminary Design for MAX Red Line Extension
Portland, OR – TriMet has selected Parametrix to perform preliminary design services for the MAX Red Line Extension and Reliability Improvements project. With the Red Line Extension project, TriMet will be able to increase capacity and improve Red Line ridership while decreasing system-wide delays. In a rapidly growing region these improvements are crucial to the future of MAX.
The project will include station upgrades and improved wayfinding. This project will increase capacity by double-tracking current single-track sections and will improve system-wide reliability on other MAX lines because of how they share track through several key areas.
Parametrix will serve as the prime consultant, manage the project, lead the track/civil design, NEPA process, and support structural design. John Willis will serve as the Parametrix team project manager. He has previously managed TriMet’s Portland-Milwaukie West Segment. Parametrix’s team members have contributed to every light rail line TriMet has built, providing insights into MAX systems that will inform solutions to Red Line project challenges.
HDR, Heilix, Kittelson & Associates, Inc., LTK, Ott-Sakai, Mayer/Reed, and Northwest Geotech. are the key subcontractors for the team.
