In late 2024, a $100 million water and wastewater facility came online in the East Kuna Industrial District. The water, wastewater, and supporting public works administrative offices will support industrial development, including the Meta Kuna Data Center, currently under construction. Kuna, which currently has a population of around 28,000, is a rapidly growing community in the Treasure Valley of Southwest Idaho.
In 2024, this project was selected as the Parametrix Project of the Year by our Executive Leadership Team based on its alignment with our core values and other innovative factors.
A domestic well provides potable water for the site
Parametrix was retained to prepare feasibility, design, and support construction of the project, which included six miles of water conveyance, five miles of sewer conveyance, a 10,000-square-foot administration building and water pump station, two million gallons of potable water storage, a 10,000-gallon-per-minute potable water pump station, and two municipal wells.
The Parametrix project team included professionals from across the Western United States with expertise in water and wastewater, transportation, environmental permitting, construction management, surveying, and more. The team worked closely with the City of Kuna, the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, and Meta, to ensure that the project met or exceeded environmental requirements.

The result of these collaborative efforts is a brand-new state-of-the-art water facility and administration building that significantly reduces water use and meets sustainability goals while allowing for future expansion to support economic growth.
