Our History
Parametrix was founded in 1969 in Sumner, Washington by Waite Dalrymple and George Capestany as Delta Engineering. Originally focused on the wastewater business, the firm grew quickly and diversified into six business divisions by 1974. Two divisions, Delta Engineering and Seattle Marine Laboratories, were restructured as Parametrix.
From the beginning, Parametrix had an entrepreneurial spirit; a culture of integrity, client service, fun, inclusion, and collaboration; and a commitment to the well-being of its employees.
The Parametrix Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) was
established in 1992, and through regular sales of the owners’ stock to the ESOP
trust, became 100% employee-owned in 1999.
The entrepreneurial spirit spurred growth through diversity in services and locations and through acquisitions. Today, we are a full-service consulting firm with offices across the western United States.
