Share

We’re thrilled to have several interns joining us at Parametrix this summer! We strive to provide challenging, hands-on project experience to students entering our industry. Inspiring young professionals early in their career is critical for the future of our profession and for our purpose of restoring the health of the planet for future generations.

Meet Emma Sun, an intern with our Oregon Transportation team based in Vancouver, WA. She is a senior at Portland State University majoring in civil engineering. After graduating, she plans to work toward a master’s degree in structural or transportation engineering.

Why did you choose an internship at Parametrix?

I am in the Civil Engineering Cooperative Program (CECOP) at Portland State University and was very excited to be placed at Parametrix. I researched the company culture and core values and they resonated with me.

What would you like to accomplish during your internship?

This internship gives me a chance to develop my technical skills, apply my knowledge into practice, and understand clearly how this field operates. I also hope my communication and collaboration skills could be improved by working with others.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy hiking and traveling. I hike most of hiking trails around here and Mt. Rainier is my favorite.
