The stormwater facility, adjacent to Ebey Waterfront Park, can treat 463 acres of urban runoff within its small footprint thanks to an innovative filter media and on-site lift station. A $7.6 million grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology was secured to partially fund this project.
Stormwater runoff flows through troughs in the park before being filtered.
The City of Marysville has a long-term vision to improve the waterfront area for the community to enjoy, creating a unique riverside commercial and recreational district. The regional stormwater facility was incorporated into this vision.

The stormwater park serves a dual purpose in treating stormwater to improve water quality while providing a recreational place for the community. It was designed to integrate into the future park expansion and complement park design. Educational kiosks inform the public about the importance of water quality and stormwater treatment. Walkways through the stormwater park link up to the larger trail system as part of the future Ebey Waterfront Park expansion.

Parametrix led the design and provided support through construction. Teaming partners included MacLeod Reckord for landscape architecture and HWA for geotechnical support.
