The Northwest’s largest conference and tradeshow for drinking water professionals is coming to Spokane! Will you be joining us for the American Water Work Association Pacific Northwest Section 2024 Conference May 1 – 3? Luckily, our local team of engineers, planners, scientists, and surveyors are here to serve as your guides! Here are some of our favorite places to visit in the area:
Thinking of grabbing dinner after a long day at the conference? Check out:
- ZOLA – a locally owned and operated live music bar and restaurant in downtown Spokane. Voted Spokane’s best happy hour restaurant!
- Saranac Public House – featuring “real food, great beer, fine wine & hand crafted spirits.” Known for high quality ingredients from local, all-natural & organic sources. Vegan, vegetarian & gluten-free friendly.
- Sushi.com – One of Spokane’s finest authentic Japanese restaurants serving sushi and teriyaki. Conveniently located downtown!
- Steelhead Bar & Grille – Casual dining with Northwest flair. Featuring locally sourced, Northwest inspired flavors and a variety of foods.
- Clinkerdagger – The short walk through the park will be worth it! This is a local favorite overlooking the majestic Spokane River and city skyline. A classic American grill serving steaks and seafood.
For drinks or happy hour, we recommend:
- O’Doherty’s Irish Grille – Spokane’s friendliest neighborhood pub, located just one block from the Convention Center.
- Durkins Liquor Bar – An upscale diner with an intimate basement bar lounge. Reservations are recommended.
- Cease and Desist Book Club – A speakeasy cocktail and whiskey bar in the heart of Spokane.
- Flatstick Pub – Looking for a drink and activity? Book a tee time for mini golf at Flatstick Pub!
Have some extra time to see the sights?
- Riverfront Park – Located adjacent to the Convention Center, this 100-acre greenspace offers views of the Spokane River, Falls, and much more. While you’re in the park check out these attractions:
- Garbage Goat – This inanimate goal created by the “welding nun” has been helping to clean up the city of Spokane for more than 40 years.
- Big Red Wagon – This playground sculpture of an icon from the past is dedicated to the children of the future.
- Numerica SkyRide – Want a better view? This ride offers a spectacular and accessible upfront seat to the Spokane River and Spokane Falls. Enjoy a 15-minute round-trip ride in any weather. May is a great time to check out the raging river!
