Seattle, WA –Parametrix, a 100-percent employee-owned engineering, planning, and environmental sciences firm, has acquired Aptum, Inc., a civil and structural engineering firm based in Camas, Washington. This acquisition will create a permanent presence for Parametrix in Southwest Washington and expand the firm’s service offerings. Parametrix is headquartered in Seattle and has a nearby office in Portland, along with 11 other offices throughout the Western United States.
Aptum, Inc. was founded in 2014 and has four staff. The firm provides services in management, design, and construction monitoring to public and private clients throughout the Pacific Northwest. The firm’s expertise includes bridges, retaining walls, commercial and institutional facilities, seismic assessment, hydraulic structures, riverbank restoration, and stormwater management and treatment.
Aptum’s founder, Matt Deml, PE, SE, has 20 years of experience in project management, design, and delivery of structural projects. His experience includes the Columbia River Crossing, Utah Transit Authority’s Weber County to Salt Lake Commuter Rail, and the Tilikum Crossing Transit Bridge. Deml will lead the bridge and structures practice at Parametrix, which in total includes 25 professionals. Parametrix and Aptum have worked together on TriMet’s Red Line Extension.
