Seattle, WA – Engineering News Record has released its annual Top Design Firms list, which ranks firms based on revenue for design services performed in the previous year. This year Parametrix was ranked number 138, up from 166 last year. Parametrix has been ranked in the top 500 design firms since 1998.
Despite the pandemic, the top 500 design firms combined revenue rose 1.48% to a record $104.77 billion. However, the median revenue for firms fell 4.4%. In contrast, Parametrix’s revenue grew 27% in 2020.
Revenue from the Transportation market continued to be Parametrix’s large source of revenue. The firm also generated significant revenue in water, sewer and waste, and general building markets.
Some of the firm’s largest projects awarded in 2020 were the Interstate Bridge Replacement from Vancouver, WA to Portland, OR; the West Seattle Bridge in Seattle, WA; Interbay Steel Forcemain Replacement in Seattle, WA; SH-16 Phase 2 South in Boise, ID; and NM 31/NM 128 in Eddy and Lea Counties, NM.
“We’re honored to once again be ranked among the top design firms. I’m very proud of the way our team was able to quickly adapt and seamlessly pivot to remote work while remaining focused on serving our clients,” stated Parametrix CEO Jeff Peacock.
