Parametrix to Complete Final Design of New Silverdale Transit Center

Bremerton, WA – Kitsap Transit has awarded Parametrix the contract to complete final design of the new Silverdale Transit Center. This is a continuation of the preliminary engineering work the firm has completed.
The current transit center is located near the interchange of SR 3 and SR 303. The new location will be just southwest of the SR 303 interchange and Ridgetop Boulevard NW across from the Harrison Medical Center. This location will be closer to housing and employment centers than the current location. Kitsap Transit has been working with CHI Hospital, as they are conducting improvements in the area for an expansion. The team is also coordinating with Kitsap County, WSDOT, Harrison Hospital, and the Federal Transit Administration.

Parametrix prepared an operational, environmental, and cost assessment to identify a preferred alternative layout. A traffic analysis was also conducted. Construction is set to begin in late 2020 and last through 2021.
