Spokane, WA – Spokane Transit Authority has selected Parametrix to provide design and engineering services for the Division Street Bus Rapid Transit project, a 9-mile corridor serving over 10,000 riders per day. Design is expected to begin in 2022 and construction will start in 2025.
Vice President Darby Watson, AICP will serve as Parametrix’s project manager. Watson has delivered planning and design services for Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), LA Metro, San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, San Mateo County Transit, Sound Transit, and the City of Seattle.
Project partners include KPFF, Fehr and Peers, Iteris, HEWITT Architecture, S*Squared Marketing & Communications, SCJ Alliance, DCI Engineers, Budinger & Associates, Gannett Fleming, Archeological & Historical Services, and Michael Minor & Associates.
Parametrix previously provided transportation planning, transit, multi-modal engineering, and urban design for the Spokane Regional Transportation Council’s Division Street Corridor Study, known as DivisionConnects. The locally preferred alternative developed from that study was approved in April 2021. The current phase involves identifying potential growth, considering future land use transitions, and identifying and prioritizing active transportation improvements.
