Two Parametrix Projects Receive APWA Project of the Year Awards

Vancouver, WA – The American Public Works Association Washington Chapter recognized ten projects as the 2024 Public Works Projects of the Year. Two projects that Parametrix was a part of were recognized.

The LOTT Clean Water Alliance Budd Inlet Treatment Plant Biological Process Improvements Project earned Project of the Year in the Environment category in the $25 million to $75 million division.

Parametrix served as the primary consultant on the project, which included a major upgrade to the biological nutrient removal process at the main Budd Inlet Treatment Plant. The project achieved exceptional treatment performance, significant energy savings, and environmental benefits, while also preparing for future growth and stricter discharge regulations.

The City of Poulsbo SR305 Johnson Parkway Project earned Project of the Year in the Transportation (Small Agency) category in the $5 million to $25 million division.

Parametrix served as the primary consultant on the project, which serves the city’s east urban area and provides a regional connection for the city and North Kitsap County between SR 305 and NE Lincoln Road. The project ensures public safety and promotes regional economic vitality, quality of life, the importance of the environment, and the diversity of citizens through essential public infrastructure.

Winning infrastructure projects are publicly owned and promote excellence in construction, management, and administration. These awards recognize the alliance between the managing agency, the contractor, the consultant, and their cooperative achievements for the good of their communities. Awards were presented at the APWA Washington Chapter conference in Vancouver, WA on Thursday, April 11.
