Parametrix is providing GC/CM Advisory and PM/CM services for a 10-year program for refurbishment, replacement, and expansion of facilities at Pierce Transit’s bus maintenance and operations base. The base also serves over 100 Sound Transit coaches and includes battery electric bus charging facilities. The project expands capacity and operational capability consistent with FTA State of Good Repair guidelines and is being built in multiple phases to maintain full operations. Phased improvements have included site preparation, additional lot capacity, and a new fuel and wash facility. Parametrix is using the Heavy Civil authority when needed to rapidly negotiate and award critical project scopes. Our services have included securing approvals for alternative delivery methods, contractor procurement (completed under an accelerated 10-week schedule), and project management and construction management support including cost control, subcontracting plan review, and construction management and inspection.
