Central Marin Regional Pathway Gap Closure

The Central Marin Regional Pathway Gap Closure project sits at the nexus of five active transportation routes, including an interchange with Highway 101. This project provides safer infrastructure for the 1.6 million pedestrians and bicyclists accessing these routes each year.

The Town of Corte Madera was awarded an Active Transportation Program state grant for $1.5 million to complete the work, which included widening a class I multimodal pathway, installing a new two-way class IV bike path, and adding an enhanced crosswalk with a refuge island and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons.

Parametrix designed pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular improvements for the project.

This work has spanned more than a decade of planning efforts involving a wide range of stakeholders, including the Town of Corte Madera, City of Larkspur, Transportation Authority of Marin, Caltrans, Bay Trail, local citizens, Safe Routes to Schools, Marin County Bicycle Coalition, and residents.
