The Port of Seattle added a new International Arrivals Facility, updating the current capacity with a new 450,000-square-foot building and passageways, including a 900-foot-long, 85-foot clear pedestrian bridge over active jetways. This new facility more than doubles the incoming passenger capacity, increasing the baggage capacity from 668 linear feet to 1,806 linear feet, and increases the international gates from 12 to 20. The progressive design-build project was the first of its kind by the Port of Seattle and achieved a LEED Silver Certification. Parametrix provided key staff in resident engineer roles as part of a blended team.
