Seabrook

Seabrook is a vibrant beach town on the rugged Washington Coast, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. A sustainable haven for full-time residents, vacationers, and day trippers, the town includes more than 500 homes of all sizes in nine micro-neighborhoods. Seabrook features a town center with shops and restaurants, 18 parks, hundreds of acres of mountain bike and hiking trails, amphitheater, sports and pickle ball courts, an indoor pool, firepits, and miles of wide-open beach.

Parametrix has been involved with the Seabrook development since master planning. The team has provided land use planning; landscape architecture; permitting; public agency coordination; civil site design including stormwater, sewer, water, and roads; land survey; and construction administration. The community features natural resources—crushed oyster shells are used for pathways, reclaimed cedar is recycled into shingles, clear-cutting has been minimized, and native plants are used for landscaping. Stormwater management involves low impact development elements such as raingardens, swales, dispersion, and filter strips. A winding stairway provides access to the beach down the steep natural slope. Several flights of stairs are broken up with viewing/resting deck areas suspended over the natural vegetation to minimize impacts to the shoreline area.
