Ken Murphy, PE Joins Parametrix

Albuquerque, NM – Ken Murphy, PE has joined Parametrix as a Senior Transportation Engineer based in Albuquerque. He has 27 years of experience providing transportation engineering, project management, design, and construction management services to public agencies in New Mexico, primarily the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT). Murphy comes to Parametrix from another consulting firm where he served as a Senior Transportation Project Manager. Prior to that, he worked at NMDOT for 25 years. Kitsap Transit Breaks Ground on Silverdale Transit Center

The new multi-modal center will serve those traveling to and from Central Kitsap, the West Sound’s hub for healthcare, shopping, and other services. Parametrix has been involved with this multi-phase project since October 2015, from its early stages of site selection and planning, through full design development, and now construction management services for the final phase.Washington Governor Jay Inslee stands before a podium at the project site parking lot.The new transit center will include eight bus bays to accommodate seven 40‑foot‑long buses and one paratransit bus. For the everyday transit user, decorative paving paths and landscaping will guide riders to circulation paths, waiting areas, and areas of respite, including an edible landscape garden. A cantilevered canopy will provide continuous overhead protection for waiting riders. This project also includes a driver comfort station building, public restrooms, and two bus bays equipped with wireless charging for electric buses, the first Kitsap Transit bus facility with this feature.Presentation board graphic displayed at the event on a tripod. Five Fish Passage Barriers to be Removed Near Bremerton, WA

Bremerton, WA – The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Olympic Region has selected Parametrix for the removal of five fish passage barriers in the Gorst area south of Bremerton.This bundle of fish passage barrier removals is part of the 2013 injunction to remove 90 percent of fish barriers in Washington State by 2030. Seattle, WA – Engineering News Record has released its annual Top Design Firms list, which ranks firms based on revenue for design services performed in the previous year. This year Parametrix was ranked number 140. Parametrix has been ranked in the top 500 design firms since 1998. For the sixth consecutive year, total revenue for the top 500 listed firms increased, rising 2.2% to $107.11 billion in 2021.
